It's Hockey Time – GO LEAFS!

Sorry to keep you all in suspense about D but I have just been way too tired with Christmas and all the hustle and bustle.

We went to my sil’s in Grimsby today. Mom picked us up. It is a good 1/2 hour drive west from us, not too far away. I ate way too many h’orderves! Before dinner we opened Christmas presents. My sil and nephew gave me beautiful pearl earrings! I also got a Celine Dion CD. J got two more DVD’s he wanted so he is a happy camper!

She cooked a delicious turkey meal but not as delicious as my mothers of course! I ate way too much, I am stuffed! I’m sure I have gained 5 lbs, I have had 3 big meals this week! We stayed until about 9:30 and then headed home.

OK, now for the D story! When I drove into work Tuesday morning I didn’t see D’s car in the parking lot. Of course I started to get really upset thinking that maybe he took the day off which means I wouldn’t see him until the New Year. I kept going by his desk hoping he would come in but he wasn’t there. Finally a co-worker came up to me and said “Pam he’s here!” I was so happy when she told he he was in! I reliazed that he was having car trouble and I’m sure his car was in the shop and he had to wait for.

Anway, about lunch time I finally got up enough nerve to go over to D’s desk with his Christmas card and little box of Lindor chocolates. D’s back was to me and I said “Knock, knock.” He turned around and he was on the phone so I just gave him his card and the chocolates and said “I will come back.” he nodded his head “yes” and I left. I have a feeling he was talking to V.

I didn’t go back to him right away so a little while later I got an email from him and this is what he said.. The subject was

I couldn’t believe my eyes!!! I couldn’t believe he sent me an email! This is the first time ever he has sent me a personal email and he initiated it!

So I didn’t know what to do. Should I send him an email or go up to talk to him? I thought I would do both! This was my reply…

Your welcome! I guess you are going to your sisters in Kingston for Christmas? Are you taking some time off? We will have to do drinks with V maybe in the New Year.

As I mentioned before I thought I would include V to make him feel more comfortable. The plan is for the three of us to go out together a couple of times and then hopefully D and I will go out alone together! This is D’s reply to my email…

Sounds good. I am off to Kingston tomorrow. Back Jan 5th. See you then.

He said “Sounds good”!!!! I couldn’t believe he said Sounds good!!!!! He didn’t have to reply at all if he didn’t want to go out. He didn’t even have to email me in the first place! I was shocked, I was beaming! I was so happy you have no idea!!!

Now tell me. Do you think it is my imagination? Is there something there or is he just trying to be nice? Maybe he just couldn’t ask me to go for lunch becos he is so shy but doing it this way, it’s ok becos he will feel more comfortable.

I just hope it actually happens when we get back. It doesn’t have to be right away though. I don’t want to make it seem like I’m desperate. It can wait a couple of weeks. (not really, LOL!) And what do I say to these guys? What do we talk about? I konw they want to talk about business and politics and I know nothing about politics! I guess I will just has to see what happens.

Later on in the afternoon, I came back from the kitchen and we had another long talk. He was very friendly! I was really hoping he would come up to me when he was leaving to wish me a Merry Christmas in person but he never did. He went out the back way. Oh well, at least I got an email fror him.

So that is my D story and it really was the best Christmas present ever becos he emailed me and he said “Sounds good.” He didn’t have to say anything at all did he? Can you see why I’m so excited? I’ve been on cloud 99 ever since! So what do you think?

We had a wonderful Christmas! It really was a perfect Christmas this year! Everything was great! The presents were great! Christmas dinner at my mothers was amazing! Mom cooked turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes, turnip, green beans (in a sweet sauce with pecans) rolls and wine. Of course I always look forward to Mom’s Christmas pudding. I love it! Everything was delicious! I ate way too much but I didn’t care. I was enjoying myself!

Let me back track. J spent Christmas Eve at his Dad’s. He goes there every year and they go out for dinner becos it is also J’s step mothers birthday. Then when they come back J and the kids are allowed toopen one Christmas present each. J got his lap top that he wanted! He is absolutely thrilled with it!

I spend every Christmas Eve wrapping presents and I watch the movie It’s a Wonderful Life. I was anxious for J to come home to show me his lap top as I knew he was getting it. Just seeing how happy he was when he came home was perfect! His dad and I had a nice but short visit. He even gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek when he arrived. I feel badly for him as he just lost his father about 10 days ago and his mother a year ago but they weren’t that close anyway.

After J’s dad left I finished wrapping and got the stockings ready and went to bed. We got up about 9:30 and opened our stockings and a couple of gifts. We headed over to Mom’s about 11:00 am. There were lots of presents under the tree and it took about 1 1/2 to open them all!

I got a really nice plush robe from J! It is so nice and warm and a pretty blue colour. I got beautiful 14 karate gold hoop earrings from my mother, a purple sweater, slippers. From my aunt I got my favorite perfume, a nice warm nighty, a box of my favorite turtles and cute note paper. I also got gold hoop earrings from my friend/co-worker but they are a little different from my mothers so that’s ok. She also gave me my favorite bottle of wine! I got a nice Christmas mug and a box of nice tea from my other girlfriend. From my other girlfriend I got a nice blue top and blue earrings and a matching necklace. It is really pretty! I got a bottle wine from one of my neighbors and from my other neighbor I got a microwaveable neck wrap. I was wanting one as I’m in so much pain at work every day from sitting at the comptuer all day long. I really hope it works! My ex-husband gave me cash which always comes in handy! I might be forgetting something else but I think that is about it!

My mother was really happy with her DVD recorder that I gave her and she was thrilled with the cell phone that J got her! I also got Mom a sweater and a CD that she wanted. My aunt loved her Christmas tree pin and sweater that I gave her.

After we opened the presents we had lunch and then went home. I had a nap and J enjoyed playing with his new video games. I got him NBA Live 09 which was what he wanted and quite a few DVD’s that was on his list. It was great seeing him so happy!

Later on in the afternoon we went back to Mom’s for dinner. My mother invited my aunt’s cousin and my aunt’s neighbor who just had lung cancer surgery for dinner. She came through it with flying colours and is absolutely fine now! After dinner we played the game slang teasers and had alot of fun!

When we got home it was late and I was exhausted so I went right to bed. I was so tired today but J wanted to go to Future Shop to get a carrying case for his lap top. He got a really nice one and is really happy with it.

We watched the Leafs play against New York Islanders tonight and lsot 4 – 1. I was so tired I fell alseep and missed some of the game. Oh well, I didn’t miss much anyway.

Tomorrow we are going to my SIL’s in Grimbsy to have Christmas all over again! More presents and more turkey! I am looking forward to it!

I know I still have to tell you all about D! I will try to post that story tomorrow night if I am not too tired! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

I just finished wrapping all the presents and getting everything all ready for the morning. Remind me please to start a week earlier next year! I’m exhausted! LOL! It took all evening to wrap!

It wasn’t too busy at work today, thank goodness. It was been a very crazy week! The office closed at 3:00 pm today but we were let out early at 1:00 pm. It was nice getting home early for a change.

J came home so excited with his new lap top he got from his Dad! He is absolutely thriilled! His father came in when he dropped him off and he had a nice and short visit. He was happy with J’s gifts that he bought him and so were his ha;f brother and sister!

Tomorrow morning we will open our stockings and then head over to my mothers to open our gifts. Then we will have lunch. After lunch we will come home and J will play with his new things and I’m sure I will have a nap! Then we will go back to my mothers for delcious turkey dinner! I’m really looking forward to it!

I’m exhausted and I’m off to bed. I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year! Hugs!

I will tell you all about D after Christmas is over. I’m just too tired right now but I promise you it is good so please stay tuned!

Damn! V wasn’t in again today so I didn’t get a chance to talk to him to see if he talked to D when they were out the other night. I’m dying to find out! LOL! So I didn’t give D his Christmas card and chocolates yet. I will tomorrow morning for sure no matter if V is in or not. I sure hope V is in tomorrow but D is off on the 24th and then I’m off so I won’t be able to talk to V until the New Year.

When I talk to D, I’m going to ask him if he is going to be taking any time off. I’m going to ask him if he is going to his sisters in Kingston. Hopefully he will ask me what I’m doing. I’ve got two more days. I have to work on the 24th, the office will be closing at 3:00 pm and then that’s it! I don’t go back until the 5th! Of course I will miss D like crazy!

I saw D leaving early today about 3:30 pm. I asked A (the young guy) if he was going to his sailing course but he said he was having car trouble to he went to see about his car. I hope I get him at a good time when I go over to see him.

We were swamped today! We were so busy, it was a crazy! I barely had time for my lunch. I just ate at my desk. It’s month end so we had to get everything in. I’m soar all over from sitting at my desk all day. I sure hope we aren’t that busy tomorrow.

I went to HMV after work and bought a few of J’s DVD’s that he wanted so I’m now all done my Christmas shopping! I feel very relieved and I will feel alot better when everything is wrapped!

Tomorrow night is our family Christmas party at my Aunt’s which I am looking forward too. My aunt always serves a wonderful meal. Every year she has one of our favorite French Canadian dishes Toutiere (which is a meat pie). It is delicious! Yes, my aunt is french canadian and so is my mother. My mother spoke French up until she was 12 years old. She still speaks french but has lost the accent, same as my aunt.

Well, it’s late and I’m off to bed. It’s going to be a very busy next couple of days. I’m thinking of taking the week before Christmas off next year to shop and wrap so I won’t be so tired. but then again I do like to relax the week after Christmas. So are you ready for Christmas?

I’m so tired of shopping and so tired of shovelling all this damn snow! I shopped until I dropped yesterday literally! It took me about 15 mintues to get out of the mall, there was so much traffic. I was late in picking J up for work which made him late about 20 minutes but luckily they were ok with that and didn’t give him a hard time.

After I dropped J off I went to the liquor store to buy a few bottles of wine for Christmas presents. Then I went to HMV (to buy for J) which was near by only to find out they were closed and I just missed them by two minutes! So then I thought I would go back to the mall to buy a couple of more presents.

Before I went to the mall J and I had to shovel the driveway. The snow plow had come and blocked us in. It took about 45 mintues to clear the end of the driveway as it was hard chunks of snow and ice. I was so tired from shovelling! What a day I had!

I didn’t get home until about 8:00 pm. I missed the first period of the hockey game. I made myself a cup of tea and ordered pizza for dinner. I waited and waited. 45 minutes went by and still no pizza! I called to complain and they said it would be here shortly and it would be for free! There rule is if it isn’t here in 40 minutes it’s free! 5 minutes later the pizza came and I got it for free! Bonus!!! That made my day! Oh, and not to mention that I woke up with a headache and had one all day. After I ate dinner it finally went away. I enjoyed the rest of the game! We played Pittsburg and won 7 – 3! It was exciting!

J and I had to shovel the driveway again as we got even more snow! The snow plaow came by and blocked us in again! It wasn’t as bad as yesterday though, thank goodness! But it was bad enough.

I went back to the mall and bought a couple of more gifts and I also got my bangs trimmed. So I’ basically done except I still have to go to HMV and buy a couple more DVD’s for J. I will do that on my way home from work tomorrow.

I did my Christmas card this evening for a few co-workers. I give my group a small box of those Lindor chocolates (that have 3 in them). I also give one to D! I give him teh dark chocolate one so that is what I give him. I will give him his card and chocolates tomorrow morning. Last year I had the girls in my group sign his Christmas card but I just signed it myself this year.

I am anxious to go to work tomorrow and talk to V. I hope he talked to D when they were out the other night. I’m also going to say “I talked to D and he said we would go out for drinks and I thought to make him more comfortable you would come along with us.” Then I will tell him the whole story! It will be interesting to see D’s reaction once V and I talk to him about actually going out! Wish me luck it all works out!

It’s way late and I’m so tired. I hope everyone had a good weekend!

I’ve been waiting all morning to catch D at a good time to go over and talk to him about last night. I was anxiously waiting to see V to ask him if he talked to D about me but he never came in becos of the storm.

I finally saw D in the group besides ours and when he finished in there he was walking out and looked in our group and smiled at me. That was my cue to follow him back to his desk which I did. I said to D jokingly “V got so drunk last night he couldn’t come in?” D said “They went for out Indian food and really didn’t drink so much.” I said “Yeah, I like Indian food, it’s good.” We had quite a long conversation. Right away he mentioned Mats Sundin signing with Vancouver. (I’m so jealous Bobbie and Susan!) He mentioned how interesting it will be on February 21st becos that’s when the Leafs play the Canucks next. I will be watching for sure!

Anyway, I wanted to finish the conversation so I said “We should go out for a Christmas drink.” and he said “Yeah.” I COULDN”T BELIEVE IT!!! He could of said “Ya, we’ll see…” or somethiing like that.

OK, here’s the thing… I don’t want to scare him away so I said “And maybe V can come with us too.” D said “Ya, he is good at organizing things like that.” The reason why I said that is becos I know D will go if V is there and he will feel more comfortable. I have to take baby steps with him remember! So if the three of us go out a couple of times then D will be more comfortable with me.

I told my friend/co-worker about this and I said that I am going right into V’s office first thing Monday morning and tell him what I said to D and see if they talked about me when they were out. I am going to ask V to arrange a date with the 3 of us. If it can’t be done before Christmas then it will be first thing in the New Year! I believe D is off on the 24th so I’m hoping it will be on Monday! We have our family Christmas party on Tuesday so unfortunately it can’t be then.

We had a big snow storm today. I believe we got about 15 cm’s of snow and it is still snowing out. It was really nasty driving this morning. It took me twice as long to get to work. We were really busy today getting everything entered into our system for month’s end but we were able to leave around 1 pm or so. J was off school today and we had to shovel the driveway when I got home. The snow was pretty heavy and it was blowing in my face of course. I was frozen and it is still snowing!

I came in and put my woolies on, turned on the gas fireplace, had hot soup for lunch and a nice hot cup of tea. I watched my show (General Hospital) and after that I had a little nap! It’s so nice to be home!

Oh I forgot to mention… D was leaving the same time as me. I was over in the other group talking to a co-worker by the hallway. He saw me with my coat on and said “Are you heading out?” I said “Yes, I am. Have a good weekend.” He looked back at me and was smiling and he kept on looking at me (and I kept look at him smiling) until he turned the corner! He sure made my day today! SIGH!!!

I may start wrapping some gifts tonight. I finally decided to buy my mother a DVD recorder. She told me the one she was looking at so I went to buy it last night on the way home from work. I also started shopping for J but I’m not finished yet. I will go to the mall tomorrow and hopefully finish everything! I hope everyone has a good weekend!

I can’t believe it! V came over to me today (as me always does) and he told me that he was definately going out for dinner with D tonight. I happened to turn the corner at the same time V was going over to get D. They both had there coast on and I played dumb and said “Where are you going? You guys are going on a date and you didn’t include me?” They both laughed and V sai “Do you want to come?” D said “We are going to … ”

I couldn’t believe it!!! Was he actually inviting me? V grabbed my arm and started pulling me along with them. I was kind of laughing and I said “No, no, no, I’m going this way.” And they left. I was on my way out to the washroom and I aw D out in the hall waiting for the elevator with a couple of other co-workers who I was talking too. I said “See you tomorrow.” and he said “Goodnight.”

I was almost in shock becos I think he was actually inviting me to go with them! But I think he really didn’t me to go. But it was really V more asking me than D. But then again D wouldn’t of told me where they were going if he didn’t want me to go would they?

I told a friend/co-worker about it and A (the young guy) who couldn’t believe D said that! I said “I am SO stupid, why didn’t I say Yes?” I said “I blew it!!!” A said that D will be so shy he probably won’t ask me again becos I said No. Why didn’t I say Yes? I could of gone! Even A was really surprised he asked me! I was actually going out to do some Christmas shopping becos J was working but I really would of gone!

I’m going to talk to V tomorrow and see if he thought D really wanted me to go or not. I said to V “Ask D how he feels about me.” He said he would. I can’t wait to see if he found out anything.

So tomorrow, I am going over to D’s desk and ask him how last night was. Then I will say to him “So when are we going out for our Christmas drink? I think this is perfect! I can do it! YES, I can do it!!!

Our Secret Santa was fun! I got a really nice pair of sillver earrings! They are square shaped and reddish/brown in colour. They are very pretty! D got his usual sailing calendar which he really likes. There was a lot of great gifts given and it was fun to see what everyone got. I didn’t get a chance to talk to D about our gifts but I was standing right behind him in line for our luncheon. We had caeser salade, lasagna, chicken pot pie, sheppard pie, rolls. It was all very good!

We are suppose to get a big snow storm tomorrow. We are expecting about 15 cm’s! We will be very busy tomorrow as it is month end. I hope we aren’t snowed in. Driving isn’t going to be fun at all.

It’s way late and I’m off to bed. I need to start going to bed alot earlier. I can’t take these late nights anymore, I’m too old! LOL!

It’s been a busy week. We are a girl short too so that certainly doesn’t help. When one girl is away it is always more stressful. Hopefully she will be back tomorrow.

Tomorrow is our Secret Santa at work. We weren’t going to have it this year but the president changed his mind. I guess he was in the christmas spirit after all. We only got were told we were going to have one on friday so it is short notice. I think alot of people are going to get gift certificates this year.

Our receptionist showed me D’s name was still in the basket but I picked someone else instead. It would be too obvious and it was easier getting something for one of the other girls than him. I got her gift certificate to the movie theatre which is 5 minutes down the street from our office. The girls name I got is just back from maternity leave so it will be good for her and her husband to enjoy an evening out away from her son. It will be fun tomorrow, I am looking forward to it. We are having a nice luncheon too.

I found out the reason why D left so early on Friday. V told me that D wasn’t feeling well so he went home. I sure hope he is OK, I’m worried about him. I saw on our calendar that he booked the same week off I did. I’m off the day after Christmas coming back January 5th. He told V that he was staying home this Christmas, that it was going to be really quiet and he wasn’t doing anything. I find that very strange! He always goes to his sisters in Kingston. I wonder what that is all about. I’m going to talk to D and ask him what his plans are. If he is home maybe I will get up enough nerve to invite him to have Christmas dinner with us! V said that he is going out to dinner with D tomorrow night and I asked V to ask D exactly what he was doing. I think something is up with him but I could be wrong.

I see D out of the corner of my eye looking in on me sometimes when he walks by our group and I can see him sitting at his desk when I walk down the hall. Soon I will get up enough nerve to go over and talk to him. I will see him tomorrow at our luncheon so maybe then I will talk to him.

We got between 5 – 10 cm’s of snow this morning. J and I had to shovel, luckily it was light snow. We are expecting a big storm on Friday about 15 cm’s of snow. I was wanting to do some more Christmas shopping but I doubt I will be now.

Well, it’s late and I’m really tired. I’m off to bed. I hope everyone is having a good week!

It has been a fun weekend! Saturday afternoon J and I went to the mall and did some Christmas shopping. I still haven’t found anything for my mother though. She wants new sweaters and that is what I’m looking for. We didn’t have much time so I will go again next Saturday and I’m sure I will find something she will like. I also still have to buy for J but that is easy. He just wants video games and DVD’s so I’m not worried about that.

When we got home I barely had enough time to wrap my girlfriends gifts and get ready for the party. They picked me up so I didn’t have to worry about drinking and driving. We went to a chinese restaurant for dinner. It’s an all you can eat buffet. I haven’t had chinese food in such a long time so I really enjoyed it! I know I over ate my points but oh well, it’s Christmas! After dinner we went back to my friends house and we opened up the wine! I didn’t have too much though.

It was alot of fun! It always is when we get together! It was great seeing my friend from up north. I haven’t seen her since last Christmas. We exchanged presents but we won’t open them until Christmas morning.

Today J and I went out shopping again. J got most of his other family done. He just wants to buy one more thing for his half brother and sister. He got his dad a soldering iron kit that he wanted so I’m sure he will like that.

After we got back I did two loads of laundry, dusted, vaccuumed and tidied up the house. Mom was busy tonight so we stayed home and I cooked salmon for dinner. It was delicious!

It’s Monday already tomorrow and it’s going to be a busy week. I hope everyone had a good weekend!

I am so glad it’s Friday and it’s going to be a fun weekend! We get paid on Monday but the money goes into our bank accounts tomorrow so I am finally able to start my Christmas shopping! I hate living from pay cheque to pay cheque. Luckily I don’t have too many people to buy for.

We have been busy at work and our group had our reviews today. Mine of course was good. My boss said he had No complaints. I know my job well and he can rely on me. We talked for a few minutes and that was it. I wasn’t too worried about it. I knew we aren’t getting raises but if the company does well in the next 6 months we will be getting one hopefully.

D is continuing being friendly. I found out from V that he did go to Kingston for some family thing. I had to cover reception late afternoon yesterday and I was waiting for D to come around and say Goodnight but he never did. I was getting kind of upset becos I thought he probably went out the back way. As I was going back to my desk after 5:00 pm I saw him coming towards me. He was leaving and I got a Goodnight from him! I was susrprised to see him becos I thought he had already left but he didn’t. He could of gone out the back way but he walked all away around! He made my day!

One of my co-workers saw him downstairs getting lunch and she asked him what his plans were this weekend. He said he wasn’t doing anything and that it was going to be a quiet weekend. I don’t know how they got to talking but he told her that he mentioned sailing and his sailboat and that he was taking a sailing course and it was starting next week. I remember last year when he was taking his sailing course.

I saw him shortly after lunch and I didn’t see him for the rest of the afternoon. Apparently he was gone for most of the afternoon. If he didn’t have any plans what the heck was he doing? Why wouldn’t he tell her? It makes me wonder if he went to Kingston again but I don’t think so. Why is he like this? He is so frustrating!

Tonight I watched the Leafs vs Buffalo Sabres game. The Leafs won 2 – 1! It was a great game! We don’t play tomorrow night which is unusual. It’s ok though becos I’m getting together with my girlfriends from high school and I am really looking forward to it! It is our Christmas party so I have to go out tomorrow and buy Christmas gifts. We buy for each other every year. We are doing something different this year and going to a restaurant to eat then going back to my friends house for coffee and dessert. My girlfriend from Muskoka (up north) is going to be there and I haven’t seen her in quite a few months and I am really looking forward to seeing her. We have a lot of catching up to do! It will be a lot of fun!

Tomorrow afternoon J and I will be going to the mall to do our Christmas shopping. Hopefully we can get most of it done. Then I have to come home and wrap them and get ready for the party. J has tomorrow night off (for a change) he is going to a WWE show with his friend and is really excited about it! He still has his cold but he is feeling a lot better.

Sunday will be the usual cleaning day. It looks like it could be a P. J. day! Yay! becos my mother is going to my sister-in-laws for dinner and to bottle the wine. Yes, they make home made wine and it is finally ready to be bottled just in time for Christmas! I hope everyone has a good weekend!
